  • Juan Rodriguez recently completed a Dance International Workshop Tour of Japan and has been invited to return again in November of 2016. Juan teaches classes at Dance Stop on Mondays and Thursdays for selected students in the Contemporary Ballet Track.

  • Thang Dao recently taught master classes in Taiwan and in Ho Chi Minh City. He presented his original choreography, Folded Prism at the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts in April which was performed by Philadanco, a world-renowned company as part of a celebrations of Global Artistry.

  • Katie Drablos recently performed in "Freddie Falls In Love" at the Signature Theatre in NYC which was choreographed by one of our very own master teachers, Al Blackstone. She was also the assistant choreographer to Al Blackstone for "Oklahoma", the classic, groundbreaking musical which was performed at Music Theatre Wichita. Katie is the co-founder/teacher for HEART Dance Intensive, a one day event that donates a portion of proceeds to charitable causes, which tours around the southern states.

  • Susie Gorman recently performed with the American Dance Machine and Verdon/Fosse Legacy. She is also the assistant choreographer to Jon Rua from Hamilton for a new musical called Freedom Riders for the New York Musical Theater Festival.

  • Anthony Tiedeman who completed his studies at The Juilliard School, will continue to tour with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet across the U.S and Europe. He and the company will perform at the Jacob's Pillow dance festival this year.

  • It was a blessing and a true joy to welcome Ms. Michaela DePrince for master classes at our Parlin studio in February, 2014! Some of you may recognize her as an internationally-acclaimed rising star in ballet, who starred in the ballet documentary First Position, and who performed on "Dancing with the Stars."   • Dance Stop teacher and master choreographer Thang Dao was a finalist for the 2012 Vilcek Prize for Creative Promise in Dance, which ultimately was awarded to ballet legend Mikhail Baryshnikov.

  • Dance Stop choreographer Al Blackstone presented his original show, Happy We'll Be in the summer of 2012, at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC.

  • Congratulations to Contemporary Dance instructor Al Blackstone! He recently completed a long run in the Broadway production of Wicked, and also won the 2011 Capezio/ACE Award for outstanding choreography!

  • We are happy to support the Thang Dao Dance Company, which performs unique works and which hosts the Contemporary Dance Festival in New York City each year. Dance Stop encourages all students and parents to experience the performances that are right in our backyard -- our area is the arts capital of the world!
  • Dance Stop faculty member Al the 2011 recipient of the Capezio/A.C.E. Award (Award in Choreographic Excellence). The competition, which is an highlight of the Dance Teacher Summit and included 15 top level choreographers from all over the U.S., was held at the Hilton Hotel in NYC. As the top winner, Al earned a $15,000 prize towards the production of his own show in NYC. Two former Dance Stop Dancers, Olivia Alvarez and Jen Bermeo, were part of Al's winning cast of dancers. We are so excited and proud of you, Al!

  • We are thrilled to let you know that our very talented vocal teacher, Miss Hope received her Master's Degree in Vocal Operatic Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College in 2010, as well as the Encouragement Award, a highly exclusive honor which is bestowed by the Metropolitan Opera Council.

  • Dance Stop brings the best and brightest creative artists right to your doorstep! Our teachers produce artistic events, choreograph professional stage productions, and work with world-renowned dance companies. Watch for upcoming opportunities to take master classes and intensive workshops with Rosemary Sabovich-Bleick, Al Blackstone, Thang Dao, and Julie Shulman.

  • The Dance Stop Dancers performed at the Strand Theater as part of the Unite for Life/Dancers Respond to AIDS fundraiser. Our students helped raise a remarkable $18,000 to support this valuable charity, which surpasses our accomplishment in all prior years! Another recent charity performance was to benefit the breast cancer research being conducted at the Weill Cornell Medical Center.

How To Register
Our Fall Season runs from September through June, culminating in a Gala Performance at the New Jersey State Theater, in New Brunswick. We also hold a Summer Session, as well as the Young Artists Dance Intensive. Registration is accepted throughout the year, and can be completed in person, over the phone, or online.
