Summer Intensive 2010
July 26 – August 6
The Young American Dance Intensive is a two-week summer training program for pre-professional students who have a minimum of three years of consistent training in ballet and modern.
The two-week program is designed to give students aspiring to a professional career the opportunity to improve their skills, gain strength, and explore artistry. Students take 12-15 technique and workshop classes weekly from a core curriculum, which includes daily classes in ballet, modern, and pointe. The second part of the day will be dedicated to working on repertory. Repertory class will focus on using all elements of technique within a choreographic setting. Dancers will have the opportunity to workshop their own material in an improvisational setting, and will also have choreographers stage new and exciting works on them.
All students are evaluated at the beginning of the program to determine the proper level of their technique.
Young American Dance Intensive has been designed for the student who is looking to be challenged technically and inspired artistically. The program is limited to a small number of dancers so that each student is able to receive one on one coaching as well as highly individualized attention. This program is dedicated to furthering the path of dancers who are looking to enter professional companies and high caliber dance conservatories.
*Male scholarships available.
Introduction to Young American Dance Intensive – Summer, 2010

The program will be structured to advance the technical skills of our students in ballet and modern technique.
