Classes are offered for all levels, from beginner to pre-professional, in a nurturing environment where thousands of students have discovered and developed their talents. Dance students are carefully placed in classes to help them meet their individual, personal dance goals. We also offer guidance to the young dancer seeking a college or conservatory program, or other advanced training.
Mommy & Me – For children 18 – 30 months. Introduces early dance movement skills through play and movement. Children bond with parent as they bend, stretch and explore music.
Creative Movement for Tots – For children 2 – 3 year olds. This is a 45 min class designed to develop coordination, balance, rhythm and self-expression through songs, simple dance movements and basic tumbling skills.
Tots Tap Too! – For children 4 years. One-hour class which builds on listening ability, improves gross motor skills and introduces tap dancing.
ACRO -- Introduces stretching and basic acrobatic skills; rolling, cartwheels, backbends, handstands, headstands, etc.
PROGRAMS FOR 5-7 YEAR OLDS
Combination Ballet/Tap – A one-hour class that teaches both ballet and tap.
Advanced Combination – A 90-minute lesson that includes one hour of ballet and ½ hour of tap.
Acro – Introduces stretching and basic acrobatic skills; rolling, cartwheels, backbends, handstands, headstands, etc. Different levels offered.
Hip Hop – Street dance performed to Hip-Hop music. Hip-Hop is a fun and energetic form of dance and encourages its dancers to perform with freedom of movement.
Our fall season runs from September through June, culminating in a Gala Performance at the New Jersey State Theater, in New Brunswick. We also hold a Summer Session, as well along with the Young Artists Dance Intensive (YADI).. Registration is accepted throughout the year. You may register in person, over the phone or online. Dance Stop will exceed your expectation with exemplar instruction in all genres of dance.

Dance Stop Dancers are taught traditional ballet techniques to ensure each dancer possesses the fundamentals needed to build a strong dance foundation.
Hip Hop dance is a form of improvisational dance that originated in New York City. Dance Stop's hip hop teachers utilize upbeat music and choreography throughout each class. Our dancers are always inspired by our teachers and fully prepared to perform hip hop numbers with precision and passion.
Tap is an art form whereby the dancer not only dances to musical compositions but the dancer must also learn syncopations and rhythmic patterns. Dance Stop focuses on sound tap fundamentals to strengthen each dancer in these areas.
Acro is a style of dance that focuses on strength and movement. Dance Stop takes each student on a tailored, individual journey that begins with stretching and evolves into advanced tumbling and acrobatics creatively choreographed with traditional dance techniques.
Flexibility is extremely important for dancers. Dance Stop begins with core strengthening and systematically moves through the entire body. Flexibility reduces injuries, improves overall range of motion, alignment and form.
